Hearing Loss

What causes hearing loss?

Did you know that there are approximately 31.5 million Americans who suffer from hearing loss (according to the Better Hearing Institute)? This means that hearing loss affects 10% of the US population. Hearing loss does not discriminate by age or gender and can have a significant impact on an individual’s life. For children, hearing loss can delay speech and language development or interfere with education. Adults who have hearing loss can be excluded from conversations, gatherings, and meetings.

Fortunately, the majority of individuals with hearing loss can benefit from hearing aids. Research has shown that the use of modern hearing aid technology can lead to significant improvements in social, emotional, and physical well being, for both patients and the family members. Better hearing is the key to effective communication and it makes life more enjoyable.
